Mandatory Consortium for Used Oils
The Consortium collects and recovers used oils to reduce pollution, with a cost of 0.12 euro/kg charged to the consumer. Up to 68% of the oil is regenerated.
Mandatory Consortium for Used Lead Batteries and Lead Waste
COBAT manages the collection, transport and recycling of spent lead-acid batteries, recovering lead and treating sulphuric acid to avoid environmental damage.

Mandatory Consortium for Used Oils
Protecting the health of our planet is a primary objective for the entire world population and must be pursued by all means, first of all by avoiding dispersing highly polluting substances into the environment. Among these are also used lubricating oils, for this reason there is a body that deals with the collection of such oils, namely the Mandatory Consortium of Used Oils.
The Consortium, using a series of companies rooted in the territory, is obliged to collect used oils from some operators (workshops, industries, construction sites, etc.). The cost for the collection of used oils is paid by the final consumer directly at the time of purchase of the new lubricant, in the amount of 0.12 euro/kg. The oils thus collected are then subjected to a particular treatment that allows the recovery of up to 68% of lubricant, giving rise to bases that can be used for the production of new oils.
Mandatory Consortium for Used Lead Batteries and Lead Waste
COBAT ensures the collection, transport and recycling of used lead batteries in specific consortium plants that guarantee the recovery of metallic lead and the inertization or possible recovery of sulfuric acid, thus avoiding the dispersion into the environment of elements that are extremely dangerous for the balance of the ecosystem in its broadest sense.
For this reason, as stated in art. 9 quinquies, paragraph 6, law 475/1988, modified by art. 15 of law 39/2002 (Community 2001), "anyone who holds exhausted lead batteries or lead waste is obliged to deliver them to COBAT directly or by delivery to subjects appointed by the Consortium or authorised, in accordance with current legislation, to carry out the management activities of such waste.
